Method 1 — Check balance online

Open your browser and go to giftcards.com (the official site that replaced GiftCardMall)
Click on "Manage Card" or "Check Balance" in the navigation
Enter your 16-digit card number, expiration date, and CVV
Your current balance and recent transaction history will be displayed

Alternatively, make a small purchase — the receipt will usually show your remaining balance

💡 This method doesn't require internet access and is useful if you're already at a store and want to know if you have enough to cover your purchase.

Balance check tips

Check before shopping online — some merchants put temporary authorization holds that can confuse your available balance.
Gas stations and hotels often hold $50–$100 more than your actual purchase for authorization — your real balance comes back within a few days.
Split payments — if your card doesn't have enough to cover a full purchase, ask the merchant if you can pay part with the gift card and the rest with another card.
Register your card — once registered at giftcards.com, you can see a full transaction history online at any time.
