Every common question about MyGift cards answered in plain English.
General
GiftCardMall.com officially rebranded and merged with Giftcards.com in 2025. The old site may still redirect, but the official platform for managing your cards is now giftcards.com. Your cards, balances, and support remain fully active — nothing was shut down, it's purely a rebrand. See our full transition guide.
A GiftCardMall MyGift card is a prepaid Visa or Mastercard gift card sold through GiftCardMall's retail and online partners. It works like a debit card anywhere Visa or Mastercard is accepted in the US. You can use it online, in stores, and by phone.
The official customer service number is 1-833-800-0550, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This line handles activation, balance checks, lost/stolen cards, and fraud disputes. The number on the back of your card also works.
Balance & Activation
Three ways: (1) Online — visit giftcards.com and log in or check as a guest; (2) Phone — call 1-833-800-0550 and use the automated balance check; (3) In-store — ask a cashier to run a balance inquiry. See our full balance check guide.
Go to giftcards.com (the site that replaced GiftCardMall), enter your 16-digit card number, expiration date, and CVV, and follow the prompts. The process takes about 2 minutes. See our detailed activation guide for step-by-step instructions.
The funds on your card do not expire. The physical card has an expiration date printed on the front (MM/YY). If your card expires while you still have a balance, contact customer service at 1-833-800-0550 — they will issue a replacement card and transfer your remaining balance.
Most GiftCardMall MyGift cards charge a small activation fee when purchased (typically $3–$6, paid at the retailer). Some cards also charge a monthly inactivity/service fee after 12 consecutive months of no purchases — check the cardholder agreement that came with your card for exact terms. There are no fees for checking your balance.
Using Your Card
Yes. For online purchases, you need to register your card at giftcards.com with your name and billing address. At checkout, enter your card details and use your registered address as the billing address. Some merchants only ask for ZIP code — use your registered ZIP.
Gas stations typically put a hold of $75–$100 when you swipe at the pump before you start fueling. If your card balance is below that hold amount, the transaction is declined. The fix: go inside and prepay a specific dollar amount at the register instead of paying at the pump.
Most GiftCardMall MyGift cards are intended for US use only. International transactions may be declined or may incur foreign transaction fees. Check your cardholder agreement for the specific terms of your card.
No. GiftCardMall MyGift Visa and Mastercard cards cannot be used to withdraw cash from ATMs. They are purchase-only prepaid cards. The card network (Visa/MC) doesn't matter — ATM withdrawals are not available on these products.
Lost, Stolen & Problems
Call 1-833-800-0550 immediately — 24/7. If your card was registered, they can freeze it and issue a replacement with the remaining balance. If the card was not registered, recovery may not be possible — this is the main reason to always register your card.
Call 1-833-800-0550 immediately to report fraud and freeze the card. You can also check your transaction history at giftcards.com. File a dispute by providing the transaction details — Blackhawk Network will investigate. Act quickly, as disputed transactions have time limits.
